• 2nd World Fisheries Cooperative Day
  • ICFO held the 2nd World Fisheries Cooperative Day on 15 June, 2012 in Da Nang, Vietnam with the support of Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA). Around 200delegates from 12 countries attended the anniversary; ICFO chairman,Vice prime minister of Vietnam, ICA Director-General, ICFO representatives, government officials, presidents and cooperators of member fisheries cooperatives in Vietnam, etc.
  • Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hai, president of ThoiAn fisheries cooperative in Vietnam, was awarded the 2nd “World Fisheries Cooperator Prize” with USD 5,000. Mr. Lee, ICFO chairman, Mr. Charles Gould, ICA Director General, Mr. Ikuhiro Hattori, president of JF ZENGYOREN were also awarded the Commendationsfor contributing to the development of cooperatives in Vietnam” by Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA). A seminar “The experiences on the development of fishery cooperatives in the world and the practices of Vietnam” was held in remembrance of the anniversary on the same day.
  • 4 speakers from 4 countries such as Korea, Vietnam, Japan, India exchanged their expertise and experiences in fishing industry and fisheries cooperatives. Foreign delegates visited the wholesale fish marketin Da Nang on 16 June, 2012.
