ICFO is a sectoral organisation of the International Co-operative Alliance.

ICFO is a sectoral organisation of the International Co-operative Alliance. It was established to promote the development of fisheries co-operatives around the world, to promote trade, to share co-operative training and education materials as well as information on fishery matters. ICFO was previously known as the ICA Fisheries Committee.

Aims ICFO objectives include :
  • the creation of new co-operative fisheries organizations;
  • the promotion of co-operative training and education, including the production of educational material;
  • the exchange of technical information movements on a global basis;
  • the provision of materials that help development of under-developed countries¡¯ fisheries
  • the promotion of trade.
Structure

ICFO is governed by its members according to its Rules. It holds an annual Executive and Plenary meetings. Members elect a Chairman,
Vice-Chairs and other Board members at a Plenary meeting.
